22nd Annual Carolina Chocolate Festival
February 1 and 2 | Morehead City, North Carolina
Are you ready for a weekend of pure chocolate bliss? The Carolina Chocolate Festival is back, transforming the Crystal Coast Civic Center into a chocolate lover’s paradise. Throughout the weekend, indulge in delicious delights from more than 25 premier chocolate vendors offering everything from rich truffles to decadent fudge—and yes, you can take some home to savor later.
The fun kicks off Friday evening with the Pro/Am Bake-Off, where cakes are judged, sold by the slice, and auctioned whole for the ultimate chocolate enthusiast. On Saturday morning, lace up your running shoes for the 5K Cocoa Run/Walk. Register early—the first 125 participants get a free t-shirt.
Doors open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. Come enjoy a weekend filled with charity, community, and lots of chocolatey goodness.
Lunar New Year Celebration
February 1 and 2; 8 and 9 | Stone Mountain, Georgia
Ring in the Year of the Dragon with Stone Mountain’s vibrant Lunar New Year Celebration, filled with cultural performances and traditional festivities. On the first two weekends in February, check out dazzling parades, a drone show, hundreds of hanging lanterns, and K-Pop dance parties. Of course, delicious dishes from local vendors offering everything from Korean BBQ to bubble tea will be available as well.

40th Annual North Carolina Jazz Festival
February 6 to 8 | Wilmington, North Carolina
Calling all jazz enthusiasts! The 45th Annual North Carolina Jazz Festival is set to fill Wilmington’s historic streets with the soulful sounds of traditional jazz. Nestled along the Cape Fear River, Wilmington offers much to explore during the day—from its charming shops, art galleries, and museums to nearby beaches, Revolutionary and Civil War sites, and even a movie studio. By night, the spotlight shifts to the Hotel Ballast Ballroom, where world-class jazz performances await.
This year’s lineup includes Carlos Garcia Trio’s tribute to Bill Evans, Gregg Gelb, Jay DeChesere, and more.

45th Annual Heritage Festival
February 15 | Anniston, Alabama
Celebrate Black History Month at the 45th Annual Heritage Festival: Poems of the Past, Whispers of Our Ancestors at Anniston Museums and Gardens. This vibrant event, organized by Festival Coordinator Mrs. Georgia Calhoun and the Heritage Festival Committee, features an Oration Competition that highlights the talent and creativity of our community’s youth. Cheer on young speakers as they develop public speaking skills and share powerful poetry, plus enjoy a free jazz concert by TAD of Jazz, shop from local vendors, and explore the museums’ inspiring exhibits.
Delicious food will also be available for purchase from RNB Finz N Chicks and Baby Boy’s BBQ. Families with budding orators can register their children (Pre-K through Grade 12) to compete by submitting a registration form by Monday, February 10, 2025.
Louisiana King Cake Festival
February 15 | Thibodaux, Louisiana
Sink your teeth into the South’s most famous Mardi Gras dessert at this festival dedicated to all things king cake. Whether you’re a king cake connoisseur or new to this delicious tradition, the Louisiana King Cake Festival promises a day of delicious king cake tastings, live music, vibrant parades, local vendors, and fun-filled activities for the whole family.
This festive event, hosted by the Lafourche Education Foundation, is sweet in more ways than one—proceeds help provide much-needed supplies and resources to public school teachers and students in Lafourche Parish.
Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival

Seafood lovers, this one’s for you. For nearly two decades, the Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival has been more than just a culinary event—it’s a celebration of Southern heritage, culture, and hospitality (in addition to plenty of delicious seafood). James Beard Foundation’s Taste America Culinary Series
February 20 | Nashville, Tennessee
Experience an unforgettable evening of culinary excellence as the James Beard Foundation’s Taste America series returns to Nashville. Hosted at venue Saint Elle, this walk-around tasting event showcases the talents of TasteTwenty chef Mailea Weger, a James Beard Award semifinalist known for her seasonal, sustainable, and vegetable-forward cuisine inspired by California and Europe. Chef Weger will be joined by 15+ local guest chefs, including André Prince Jeffries (Prince’s Hot Chicken), Deb Paquette (etch and etc.), Dung “Junior” Vo (Noko), and Julio Hernandez (Maíz de la Vida), creating a truly unique culinary celebration.
Georgia National Rodeo

This ain’t our first rodeo! The sprawling, family-friendly Georgia National Rodeo features everything from bull riding to barrel racing, showcasing top competitors from across the nation. Cheer on your favorite cowboys and cowgirls while taking in the classic boot-stompin’ atmosphere. Mardi Gras by the Sea Festival & Parade
February 22 | Oak Island, North Carolina
Get ready for one of Oak Island’s most anticipated annual celebrations. Mardi Gras by the Sea kicks off with a lively parade starting at 11:00 AM on Keziah Street and ending at the Middleton Park Complex. The fun continues from noon to 4 p.m. with delicious food vendors, a vibrant craft market, and a “Kids Zone” packed with activities for little revelers. Dance the afternoon away with live music from local bands and soak in the festive spirit.
